Wonderful Tonight on Flickr.

… not Memphis but if you like to sing that tune, Marc Cohn sure won’t mind. Here’s Wales, near Mount Snowdon, walking through hills of slate, which - so I was told - could be dangerous as slates can be treacherous.

This is a scan of a Kodak slide from 1996 taken with an old Canon EOS film camera and a crappy kit lens. I’ll be posting a few more scans of film shots I did back then in the “old” days.

Batak Dance - The Offering on Flickr.

Another scene from a Traditional Batak dance performance ( Tor-tor and Sigale-gale) at the Huta Bolon Village (Desa Huta Bolon), Simanindo, Samosir Island, North Sumatra.

There are eleven parts to the performance altogether, e.g. a ceremony for the gods, the sacrifice of a buffalo, a dance of women hoping to find a husband. At about ‘half time’, spectators are invited to join the dancers.
